Caden's Birthday Party

So I was gonna combine this with my last post but had some issues with it so here is round 2 of birthday fun. We decided to have a birthday party with Caden's cousins and family that weekend at Jungle Jim's Playland. After SIX hours of fun and all his little friend leaving it was still hard to get him to leave.

Happy Birthday Caden!!!

Caden turned 3 last month and we had lots of fun celebrating. We had a membership to Discovery Gateway for a few months so we went and had a good time there on his birthday. They had this fun little exhibit with big dominos, and balls, and some other fun toys. Caden found his lucky number 3 ball.

It's been 2 months

Ha so I know I said I would do better at this blogging thing, and technically I have.. Lets see it was like a year in between my last post (or longer) but I still want to do it more frequently. I just enjoy adding pics to my blogs and we had camera problems with a lot of our fun festivities this summer. We bought a pass called the Salt Lake Pass of Passes which took us to a bunch of Grizzlies Hockey Games, Rocky Mountain Raceway, Real SL, and a season pass to Seven Peaks water park in Salt Lake. We have taken full advantage of these passes and had a ton of fun! Caden and Mason do not like being cold. It has taken us many trips to the water park to get them comfortable in the pool. I now stick them both in the same kids blow up boat because they don't weigh much and they have a blast playing with each other. The Raceway was a ton of fun. By far our favorite was watching races on the oval track. Has anyone ever seen Crazy 8 train races!?! It was crazy. For those of you who haven't here is a quick overview.. You have like 10 "trains" racing. The trains are made up of 3 junkie cars. In the front you have a driver who only has a working gas pedal, in the middle there is no one, and in the back is a person with only a working break. Then the race in a figure 8 shape track... Lots of crazy wrecks. I can't believe people do this stuff. So much fun to watch though :) If these passes are available next year definately will be getting them again. We have had a lot of fun.

Lets try this again.

So Sunday in church we talked about Geneology and well I have decided since I don't keep a Journal I need to do something. So here we go again, lets see how long I last :) As I am sitting here trying to update all the old stuff and make things cute I am remembering why I quit blogging in the first place..I am not very savy when it comes to this stuff so it takes forever and doesn't turn out very well so bare with me as I try to figure this out and keep things updated :)

So I thought to start things up again I would give a little info on everyone and the things they are doing.
Ryan

Ryan is currently attending the University of Utah. He also works at Smith's Marketplace Pharmacy. Ryan loves being a dad and his kids absolutely adore him.

ME

So this is a really bad picture but my updates include a fun new hair color/cut. I usually keep my hair on the dark and longer side. I got thinking we are heading into summer so why not. Chop it and lighten it up, and here it is...
I quit my job back in March and am now staying home with my kids. Its not an easy job but I am happy I have the opportunity. I love my kids and enjoy being here to help them as they learn new things.

Caden

Caden is almost 3, I cant believe it! He is such a smart kid and a great big brother. A few of Cadens favorites right now are: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Toy Story, playing at Grandma's house with his best friends/aunts and uncles, playing in the sandbox and doing everything on his own :)

Mason

Mason is almost 9 months old. He is the happiest baby I have ever met, as long as he is not teething. I thought this picture to be appropriate because Mason's favorite thing right now is FOOD. He is trying all sorts of things and knock on wood is eating alot better than Caden ever did. Caden is still picky so I could really use a child that actually eats :) Mason has three teeth now and is still working on trying to crawl.

Well there ya have it for now. A quick little update on our family. We are keeping busy and having fun. So hopefully there will be more to follow not too far down the road :)

Sandbox Fun

Well part one of the yard is almost complete.. the sandbox. It was funny to see Caden play in it. He wasnt so sure what to do with it at first, but he started having a great time real quick. He even decided to give it a taste. Uck. All Tommy could say was "take a picture".

NASCAR

We went down to Miller Motor Sport Park today to watch the NASCAR camping world series.

Ryan, Joni, Caden, Charles, and Tommy.

The cars were pretty loud so we tried to keep Caden's ears covered. He thought it was funny for a little while. He got really excited when the cars drove in front of us.

It was HOT but we had fun!

First Hair Cut

So we finally gave Caden his first hair cut. He did not like it, that is until he experienced the joy of his first non baby cookie. He was in heaven after that.

Lagoon

Well its that time of year...Lagoon. My sister bought our family season passes. So we have a fun summer ahead. Caden isnt quite tall enough to do much but we enjoyed just walking the park in the nice spring weather . Caden is able to go on a few rides. He loved the merry go round, the train and the ferris wheel.

My little cookie taster

Well my big boy is now at a total of 6 teeth. He got his first two a few months ago and then just recently the four top ones hit us. So we are trying to do some finger foods. He LOVES it but man is it messy. He likes to gag on them and really scare his mom and dad. I swear I will never give him another cookie but who could say no to this cute face...I cant. Man I LOVE being his mom!

We are working on the chewing thing.

New Bed

So I havent blogged in forever but I think I have finally got my computer figured out so maybe I can commit to posting more than once every 5 months or so. So I will probably post a few things today.. First off the new bed. Cade was using a crib that my parents gave me and it was perfect for him at first but he grew out of it. So we invested in the new bed. I want to just sit and watch him all night because he is just so fun to watch sleep. He is crazy... But he loves his new bed

Caden

So I can not find my camera which is really frusterating so for now my posts will be pictureless. The last time I remember seeing it was on christmas day and we visited a few houses. so if anyone has found a camera please let me know.
So anyway Caden just had his 6 month check up yesterday and i guess he isnt growing as much as i thought he was. He is in the 50 percent on his height at 26 1/2 inches. 25 percent on his head. 3 percent on his weight at 13 lbs 5 oz. So we started solid foods today. So far he isnt a fan, but we will keep on working at it. He is happy and healthy. Just built like his dad tall and skinny.

Lion house / Fear Factor addition

Every year Ryan's family goes to the Lion house for a christmas dinner. We always have some form of entertainment, and this year it was Fear Factor. Ryan's aunt and uncle came up with the fears people face and below you can see the fun.

The first fear was Fear of HEAT
Kyle ate a pepper that was the 2nd hottest in the world. And he did it!

Robby had to face the Fear of SPIDERS!!!! ... so it wasnt a real one but he didnt know that. Next up was Craig who had to face the Fear of SMALL SPACES. This is one I really dont think i could do but he did it with ease. He had his arms taped to his side and was rolled up in a blanket for a few minutes. Of course we had adult supervision near by incase there were any problems. (Dont try this one at home kids)

Next was the fear of looks. Right on the spot Sawyer had his head shaved bald by our expert Uncle Mike.

The Fear of CROWDS was faced by Blake, this was no challenge for him. He stood up in front of us and talked for the 2 minutes straight with no problems. He had some funny mission stories.

Fear of INSECTS, Devin ate chocolate covered insects. I dont care how much chocolate you cover them in. Two words NO WAY but not for him. He downed them.

And last but not least the fear of HEIGHTS. Spencer stood on a chair and had to fall back and be caught by all his cousins. SCARY !!! Now you will notice it was all boys that did these challanges. Does that make us girls whimps or just smart :)

poor kid

Poor Caden has a mom that loves to take pictures so for Christmas his Grandma Janice and Grandpa Todd gave him a countdown calendar to christmas. So i thought it would be fun to take pictures everyday with him and the calander. He makes me laugh so i thought i would post a few of his pictures. and might i repeat poor kid. I have tried to take the pictures in the clothes that represent and activity we did that day. So we went to the bountiful light parade so he is dressed in a silly snow suit because it was FREEZING and one day we did a few family pics for christmas cards so he is wearing his outfit.

Christmas Decor

Well we finally got all the Christmas decorations up this last week. Christmas is my favorite holiday to decorate for but we just havent had the energy to do it. So this year we are just doing the tree and a few fun little things inside. It was fun putting stuff up though. Caden found it all really entertaining. He can just sit by the tree and look at it for ever. My parents tree lights play music. He loves that. He loves anything that plays music he kept jumping while listening to the snowglobe play music. He was so excited.

Santa Clause is coming to town

Santa Clause comes to Woods Cross Elementary School every year. Caden is young so of course he wont care if he sees santa. But his darn mom being into scrapbooking we braved the line with all my little brothers and sisters to see santa. It took over an hour!!! But i got my picture :) and he didnt even cry. I planned on holding Caden but santa put his arms out and i couldnt say no.

Swimming

I took Caden swimming and it might not look like it but Caden was having alot of fun. I always have enjoyed swimming but Ryan isnt a fan at all. I told Ryan that he would be in BIG trouble (since it would be his fault of course) if my little guy didnt like swimming, but it looks like he does *knock on wood*
